ROUND ROCK, Texas — Elih Villanueva, Dan Jennings and Chris Hatcher combined to pitch the Zephyrs’ third shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over the Round Rock Express on Tuesday to earn a split against the first-place club.

Villanueva pitched 6.2 innings, scattering four hits with a season-high eight strikeouts for his first win of the season.

Jennings pitched 1.2 innings, and Hatcher got the final two outs for his league-leading seventh save.

The Z’s got the only run of the game in the sixth inning as Ed Lucas led off with a hit, Bryan Petersen walked and Ben Lasater’s sacrifice bunt put runners at second and third with one out. Jordan Brown grounded out, and Matt Downs singled to left to drive in the only run.

Randy Wells pitched six innings for the RedHawks and dropped his fourth start this season.
