Three more international standouts have committed to play in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans later this month.
Two of the three — South Africa’s Branden Grace and Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger — are playing in the Masters this week and will make their New Orleans debuts along with Italy’s Francesco Molinari in the Zurich Classic, set for April 23-26 at TPC Louisiana.
Molinari is the best-known of the three, having played on two European Ryder Cup teams and six World Cup teams. Like Molinari, Grace and Wiesberger are World Cup veterans.
“This is a real treat for our fans, because most of these international stars rarely play regular-season tournaments here in the U.S.,” said Steve Worthy, CEO of the Fore!Kids Foundation. “They have never played in New Orleans, but they are major names worldwide.”
Grace, ranked 41st in the world, has won six times in Europe and South Africa and played on both the World Cup and Presidents Cup teams in 2013.
Wiesberger is ranked 42nd in the world and reached as high as 36th earlier this season. He has five international wins and played on the 2013 World Cup team.
Molinari, who is ranked 65th, is a three-time champion on the European PGA Tour. He made the cut in all 12 PGA Tour events he entered last season and had two top-10s and seven top-25 finishes.
