University High running back Nick Brossette will receive his honorary game jersey for the eighth-annual Under Armour All-America Game during a ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on the school’s practice football field.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Brossette is the second UHS player selected to play in the Under Armour game in as many years. Offensive lineman Garrett Brumfield, now a freshman at LSU, played in the game last season. The 2015 game is set for Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Brossette is rated as the No. 10 running back on the ESPN 300 list. He has helped the Cubs claim a No. 1 ranking in Class 3A and No. 1 playoff seeding spot for the Division II select playoffs by compiling 1,325 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns during the regular season. Brossette also has four receiving TDs and has thrown a TD pass.
