RAYNE — Jaylon Reed threw three touchdowns passes as Rayne, the ninth-ranked team in Class 4A, remained undefeated with a 32-9 victory over Abbeville on Friday night.
Reed threw 53-yard and 14 yard scoring passes to Trevon Fontentot and a 9-yard TD pass to Troy Breaux. Deontry Wilridge also scored on a pair of short TD runs as the Wolves jumped to a 19-3 lead in the first half.
Malik Small scored on an 88-yard run for Abbeville. He finished with 99 yards on four carries.
BASILE 42, ST. EDMUND 20: In Eunice, Gabriel Fontenot scoredon runs of 49 and 1 yards as the sixth-ranked Basile Bearcats upped their record to 3-1.
Kendrick Ceasar added 10- and 39-yard TD runs and Mark Ivory threw an 81-yard scoring pass to Jared Belle for Basile.
Drew Brown tossed a 16-yard scoring pass to Alex Hunt and scored on a 5-yard run for St. Edmund (1-2).
PINE PRAIRIE 24, MAMOU 6: Dylan Duplechain ran an interception back 97 yards for a touchdown and Douglas Fontenot scored on 53 and 19 yard runs to lead the Pine Prairie victory. Fontentot ended the night with 139 yards rushing on seven carries.
OPELOUSAS CATHOLIC 49, ACADIANA EPISCOPAL 6: Caleb Vidrine scored three touchdowns as Opelousas Catholic scored 40 points in the first quarter to take the easy non-district win. Vidrine scores on 1, 26 and 28 yards as he ran for 120 yards on only nine carries. Aaron Whipp led the defense scoring on a 65-yard fumble recovery and running an interception back 30 yards.
David Labbe chipped in a 7-yard scoring pass to Aaron Miller and a 33-yard TD pass to Connor Cort.
KINDER 47, OAKDALE 20: In Oakdale on Thursday, Taylor Johnson ran for 169 yards and scored 5 touchdowns as Kinder breezed past Oakdale. Johnson scored on runs of 4, 9, 5, 29 and 5 yards as Kinder scored 40 points in the second and third quarters.
Mason Jordan threw a 23-yard TD pass to Gabe Weldon and a 49-yarder to Darion Dunn for Oakdale.
CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS FELLOWSHIP 46, ACADIANA HOME SCHOOL 14: In Lafayette on Thursday night, Arek Moslander ran for two scores and passed for another as CHEF knocked off Acadiana Home School. Moslander scored on runs of 13 and 20 yards and threw a 36-yard scoring pass to Spencer Costa as CHEF jumped out to a 30-8 first half lead. The defense took over in the second half as CHEF scored on a safety and a recovered fumble in the end zone.
Colin St. Julien, who led all rushers with 123 yards on 11 carries, scored both AHSC TDs on runs of 5 and 3 yards.
