Fifteen metro area volleyball teams are scheduled to play regional-round playoff contests Monday with berths in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s State Volleyball Tournament on the line.
In Division I-Class 5A, fourth-seeded St. Amant and No. 6 St. Joseph’s Academy play at home at 5:30 p.m. SAHS hosts No. 13 Barbe-Lake Charles, while SJA meets No. 11 Northshore-Slidell. Also in Division I, No. 14 East Ascension travels to No. 3 Destrehan for a 6 p.m. contest.
All three remaining Division II-4A teams play on the road Monday. Broadmoor, seeded ninth, travels to No. 8 Leesville for a 5 p.m. match. Meanwhile, 20th-seeded Belaire travels to No. 4 O.P. Walker-New Orleans at 6 p.m. St. Michael, the 11th seed, goes to Covington to play sixth-seeded St. Scholastica.
The three remaining Division III-3A teams will play at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Fourth-seeded Parkview Baptist hosts No. 13 Lusher Charter, while No. 10 West Feliciana plays at Ben Franklin-New Orleans and 11th-seeded Brusly goes to Lafayette to face No. 6 Teurlings Catholic.
Third-seeded University High tops the list of four local Division IV-2A teams. The Cubs host Thomas Jefferson-Gretna at 6 p.m. No. 8 Episcopal hosts No. 9 Northlake Christian at 5:30 p.m. The Dunham School, seeded 17th, travels to top-seeded Notre Dame-Crowley.
Three teams also remain in Division V-Classes 1A and below. False River Academy, seeded 21st, travels to No. 5 Houma Christian for a 5:30 p.m. contest. No. 11 Catholic-Pointe Coupee travels to sixth-seeded Archbishop Hannan-Covington at 6 p.m. St. John-Plaquemine, seeded sixth, hosts No, 10 Patrick Taylor-Jefferson at 6 p.m.
