HAMMOND — After a season full of three-mile races, runners in Saturday’s St. Thomas Aquinas-Dutchtown Halloween Dash competed in a series of two-mile races.

Jewel Sumner and host STA were the varsity team champions for the meet held on the STA campus.

Individual champion Tommy Brocato led a trio of Falcons runners who led the way in the boys race.

Brocato won in 10 minutes, 5.85 seconds with teammates Corbett Ourso (10:08.33) and Scott Wheat (10:08.98) close behind.

St. Thomas Aquinas had the low score of 21 points, finishing ahead of Ponchatoula (75) and Dutchtown (88).

Ponchatoula’s Dana Reno won the two-mile girls race in 12:38.38, placing ahead of Sumner’s Scotti Dykes (12:57.88) and Dutchtown’s Mileysha Rivera-Esteves (13:16.34).

Sumner scored 26 points to win the title ahead of Dutchtown (41) and host St. Thomas Aquinas (55).
