Division I-II

1. St. Joseph’s Academy (2-0): The Redstickers did drop a set, but posted two solid wins and face Mt. Carmel in a title-game rematch on Thursday.

2. St. Amant (1-1): The Gators lost to Mt. Carmel and will use a tough schedule to become a better team as the season progresses.

3. St. Michael the Archangel (3-2): The Warriors are a bit of surprise after graduating eight seniors but are playing well.

4. Central (4-2): One of the area’s better young teams will only get stronger as the season progresses.

5. Belaire (4-2): The Bengals are off to a fast start after also graduating some key performers from a year ago.

Division III-IV-V

1. University (6-2): The Cubs dropped their opener to Hannan and won six straight before losing to McGehee in the final of the South Louisiana Volleyball Invitational.

2. Parkview Baptist (4-0): The Eagles returned a number of top performers from last season and are soaring right now.

3. Episcopal (2-0): The Knights have taken their lumps the last couple of seasons but could be poised for a big year.

4. Dunham (1-2): This record is deceptive. Losses to traditional powers after a win over St. John isn’t necessarily a bad thing

5. St. John (4-2): SJHS lost to Dunham, but has the experience to excel.

(tie) Catholic-PC (3-3): Expect the Hornets to be among several top Division V teams this season.
