Mark Bonis, who has been head coach at Brother Martin since 2009, has accepted a position of Coordinator of Player Personnel at the University of Memphis.
Bonis begins his position immediately.
“Mark has handled all of his responsibilities with great care and dedication to the school’s mission to form young men to good,” said Brother Martin principal Greg Rando. “Way beyond his technical expertise in football, he has been a great role model of a loving and faithful husband and father. Mark has made Brother Martin a better place than he found it, and we are thankful for his work.”
Ryan Zeringue will serve as interim director of football at Brother Martin while a search for the next head football coach begins.
Brother Martin finished 8-3 this past season and had one of the most prolific offenses in the state, averaging 29.5 points per game.
The Crusaders’ next coach will inherit two of the state’s top prospects in the Class of 2017 in running back Bruce Jordan-Swilling and defensive back Tre Swilling.
