LAKE CHARLES — Natchitoches Central defeated Scotlandville 60-53 in the Class 5A title game that concluded Friday’s action at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association-State Farm Boys Top 28 tournament.

Cameron Lard led the Chiefs (31-3) with a game-high 24 points. He also had 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots. It is the first state title in boys basketball for NCHS. Scotlandville (36-2) had won the previous two 5A titles and was making its fifth straight title-game appearance. LaMarcus Lee led the Hornets with 19 points.
