One of Louisiana's top recruits has pulled back his commitment to the University of Florida shortly after the Gators opted to move on from their head coach.

JaMarr Chase, the No. 2 rated wide receiver recruit out of Archbishop Rummel in Metairie, posted his decision of Twitter Wednesday evening.

"I realized that I can't make everyone happy and this will affect a lot of people, however I have to what's best for my family and me," Chase wrote.

"Please respect my decision," he continued.

The Gators (3-5) are struggling through a lost season, and opted to part ways with head coach Jim McElwain after a blowout loss to Missouri.

Chase is the No. 69 overall prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, according to 247sports. Chase has offers from a host of other schools, including LSU.
