Madison Prep of Class 2A garnered a No. 1 playoff seed when the Louisiana High School Athletic Association released its boys basketball pairings on Monday afternoon.

Two other teams, Class 5A Scotlandville (30-2) and 3A University High (26-4), were seeded second in their respective classes.

MPA hosts No. 32 Loreauville when the playoffs begin on Friday. The Chargers moved up to Class 2A after winning the 1A state title last spring. Defending 2A champion Riverside Academy (22-5) is seeded second in 2A.

Scotlandville hosts John Curtis in 5A, while U-High is scheduled to host Ville Platte in 3A. Both teams also are defending state champions.

Plaquemine (22-6) was the only two area 4A teams to advance to the playoffs and was seeed ninth. The Green Devils host Westgate.

Southern Lab grabbed a No. 3 seed in Class 1A and hosts Hanson Memorial, while Jehovah-Jireh, seeded sixth in Class C, hosts Johnson Bayou.
