Monday is the start of the typical work week.
It also figures to be a big day for several Baton Rouge area baseball teams looking to work their way to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Baseball tournament set for May 15-17.
Two of the three area teams set to play before Monday in Classes 4A to C will play each other. In Class 3A, fourth-seeded University travels to Livingston Parish-based Albany, seeded 28th, for a Class 3A quarterfinal at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Set for 2 p.m. Saturday is a Class C quarterfinal that sends two-time defending state champion Family Christian to sixth-seeded Downsville.
All quarterfinal winners advance to Sulphur’s McMurry Park for the LHSAA state tourney that will include semifinals and finals for teams in all seven classes for the first time.
Two notable games are already set for Monday including one district rivalry. West Feliciana, the 19th seed, hosts No. 6 Brusly, a 7-3A rival, at 3:30 p.m. Monday at West Feliciana Sports Park located in St. Francisville. In Class 4A, fifth-seeded St. Michael travels to No. 4 Benton for a 4 p.m. Monday quarterfinal.

Game times for Wednesday’s winners, 3A PBS and 2A Runnels, are pending.
