Third-seeded Jesuit’s opening game of a Class 5A quarterfinal baeball series against sixth-seeded Alexandria was suspended Friday night because of continued rain showers, including a flash flood warning.
After four delays, the game was halted with a 3-3 score with one out in the bottom of the fifth.
Jesuit was batting with one out and a runner at third base.
Game 1 will continue at 2 p.m. Saturday at John Ryan Stadium. Game w of the series will start 45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1.
If necessary, Game 3 will be played Sunday, with the start time to be determined.
Live Oak-BMHS postponed
Friday night’s Brother Martin and Live Oak Class 5A quarterfinals baseball playoff game at First NBC Ballpark at the University of New Orleans was postponed because of heavy winds and rain.
The two teams resume the best-of-three series at 10 a.m. Saturday and a second game will follow, about 30 minutes after the first.
A third game, if necessary, will be played Sunday afternoon.
The winner will move on to play the winner of the Jesuit-Alexandria series next Friday in Sulphur.
