WOODVILLE, Miss. — Lindsey Scott Jr. passed for four touchdowns and ran for three more to help lead fifth-ranked Zachary to a 56-34 victory over Wilkinson County High on Friday night.

Scott dueled with Wilkinson quarterback Desmond Hunter, who completed 25 of 48 passes for 429 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Travion Jones caught 11 passes and 288 yards and two TDs for WCHS.

Meanwhile, Scott completed 13 of 17 passes for 277 yards. Douglas Coleman was the big weapon for the Broncos, catching five passes for 188 yards and three TDs. Coleman had scoring catches of 71 and 58 yards.

Jumping out to a 29-6 halftime lead proved to be a major key for ZHS. Scott also an for 129 yards on 11 carries. His longest run covered 23 yards.

CENTRAL PRIVATE 40, CLAIBORNE ACADEMY 18: In Central, Cade Sanchez completed 9 of 14 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns to help CPS claim an MAIS nondistrict victory at home.

Gavin Andre caught four passes for 163 yards and two TDs for the Rebels. One of Andre’s scoring catches covered 71 yards. Jude Fontenot finished with two catches for 61 yards and a TD. Fontenot also led CPS in rushing with 48 yards on three carries with another TD.

Ty Evans scored all three TDs for Claiborne. Evans scored on an 80-yard kickoff return, a 60-yard run and 25-yard pass.

MORGAN CITY 26, BERWICK 7: Malik Phillips rushed for 106 yards on 12 carries and scored a TD to lead MCHS past St. Mary Parish rival Berwick.

Abram Hartley also tossed a TD pass for the Tigers.
