Multiple sources are reporting that former University High point guard Skylar Mays is once again committed to LSU.

The 6-foot-3 Mays originally committed to the Tigers during his sophomore season and later decommitted, saying he wanted to take more time before announcing a final decision.

Mays, who helped lead the Cubs to two straight Class 3A state titles, is set to play his senior season for Las Vegas-based Findlay Prep this season. He averaged 9.1 points, 8.1 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game last season for UHS.

Rankings by 247 Sports list Mays as the No. 6 player in Louisiana, just ahead of forward Wayde Sims, another UHS standout who committed to LSU in late June. Mays is listed as the No. 3 point guard by 247 behind two New Orleans area players, McDonogh 35’s DeJon Jarreau and Landry-Walker’s Lamar Peters. Some services list Jarreau as a shooting guard.

Mays has earned Class 3A All-State and All-Metro honors for U-High the last two seasons. He’s also set LHSAA Top 28 Class 3A records for assists each of the last two seasons.
