Ten players from the area are among 19 Louisiana football players nominated to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January.
The Louisiana contingent is among 400 seniors from across the nation to be nominated for the annual all-star game, set for 1 p.m. Jan. 7 in San Antonio.
Southern Lab linebacker Christopher Allen, University High offensive lineman Adrian Ealy, Catholic High running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Plaquemine defensive back Todd Harris, Madison Prep defensive lineman Bryan Jones and Livonia athlete Patrick Queen all play in Baton Rouge-based districts.
Lutcher wide receiver Al’Dontre Davis and athlete Jontre Kirklin also are on the list, as are St. James quarterback Lowell Narcisse and Amite wide receiver Devonta Smith.
The state’s other nominees are Plain Dealing athlete Keldrick Carper, West Monroe defensive lineman Dennis Collins, Brother Martin running back Bruce Jordan-Swilling and defensive back Tre Swilling, Haughton wide receiver John Lister, Notre Dame defensive lineman Tyler Shelvin, McDonogh 35 defensive back Brad Stewart and Landry-Walker quarterback Keytaon Thompson and defensive back Michael Lee.
