St. Paul’s Colin Ross has been named the 2015-16 Gatorade Louisiana Boys Soccer Player of the Year, the program announced Tuesday.

Ross is the third St. Paul student to be recognized with the award, which recognizes athletic and academic achievement.

Ross is now a finalist for the Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year, which will be announced in May.

The senior midfielder scored 20 goals and racked up five assists last season, leading the Wolves to their third consecutive Division 1 state championship.

Ross has a 3.76 GPA and volunteered on behalf of the U.S. Youth Soccer TOPSoccer program, which serves young athletes with disabilities. He has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer at the University of Tampa next year.
