A fifth Destrehan assistant football coach has been charged with unauthorized use of intellectual property, according to a statement released by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lance Ledet, who was one of the five coaches penalized by the LHSAA on Wednesday, was issued a criminal summons on Friday.

He is the sixth person charged with the misdemeanor. The charge carries maximum penalties of a $500 fine and six months in jail.

Stevie Crovetto, the Director of Public Information for the St. Charles Parish Public Schools, issued a statement saying: "Our internal investigation has concluded. Internal decisions relative to any consequences are personnel matters and will therefore be kept confidential. However, we will notify you of any decisions made regarding the coaches resuming their practice responsibilities. We look forward to moving on and focusing on what is most important-our students and what happens in the classrooms and on the field.”

Destrehan assistant coaches Ryan Fournier, Daniel Luquet, Greg Boyne and Wayne Sentilles were all booked with the misdemeanor on Wednesday. Emily Guidry, who Matherne said is Fournier’s girlfriend, also was booked.

The criminal charges stem from an incident in which the coaches allegedly used computers to spy on South Lafourche’s football practices last week.

Destrehan, ranked No. 3 in The New Orleans Advocate large school rankings, won the game 49-24.

But on Wednesday, the LHSAA ruled the game a forfeit and awarded the victory to South Lafourche.

The coaches used Hudl, a video application that allows teams to study themselves and scout opponents using film from their previous games. Coaches use Hudl to exchange game films with other coaches.

Coaches also can record practices and post them, protected by a password known only to coaches and players of that school.

The Destrehan coaches obtained the password from a student who is no longer on the team at South Lafourche.

All five coaches have been banned from attending the last two regular season games. Fournier is banned for the postseason as well.

Luquet, Boyne, Sentilles and Ledet can coach in the postseason, but will have to coach from the press box.

Detectives say they have no evidence at this time that any other members of the coaching staff accessed the hudl.com account.
