Division I

CLINT BROWNELL / St. Amant

It was a memorable senior season for Brownell, who competed in the 152-pound weight class for the Gators. He won a city title, was second in Division I and was first-team all-metro. He was 48-3 this season and 131-37 for his career.

sDivision II

AUSTIN GOUEDY / Central

Gouedy, a junior, completed the city title and Division II state title sweep for the second straight year in the 106-pound weight class. He was 38-6 this season, 39-6 as an all-metro sophomore and 111-25 for his career and first-team all-metro.

Division III

ELLIS HERRING / Episcopal

He completed a standout senior season with a Division III state title in the 182-pound weight class. Herring also finished second in the city meet, was 25-5 for the season and earned second-team all-metro.

Division I

TOMMY PROCHASKA

Catholic

It’s no secret that Prochaska, who picked up his 300th dual meet victory, is a winning coach. He guided the Bears to their 15th City title since 2000 and sixth-place finish in Division I. CHS was 16-6 in dual meets.

Division II

Chris Collier

Live Oak

Collier won the Division II coaching award for the second straight season. He led the Eagles to a second-place finish in Division II, third place at the city tournament and a 24-12 record in dual meets.

Division III

Jimmy Bible

Brusly

Bible repeated as the Division III top area coach. He led the Panthers to a second-place finish in Division III, fifth place at city and 15-17 in dual meets. Brusly won the previous four Division III state titles.

Assistant of the Year

BEN DIPALMA

Catholic

DiPalma played a key role in the Bears’ development, including coaching four city champions. CHS also scored 164 points in Division I at the LHSAA tournament.

Earned the most wins (62-7) of first-team picks. Won city title and was second at state.

Finished strong by winning a city title and claiming second at state. He was 52-12.

Named Outstanding Wrestler after city tourney win. He finished second at state and was 51-3.
