Curtlan Williams

Southern Lab

Williams demonstrated why he is a threat to score whenever he touches the football in the second-ranked Kittens’ 46-7 win over District 6-1A foe Ascension Catholic. The senior returned three punts for touchdowns, including an 89-yarder, and finished 210 return yard,s along with an interception.

“That’s the second-best game of my high school career,” Williams said. “I didn’t think I’d ever return three punts for TDs in one game. The win was important because we want to make sure we have home field advantage in the playoffs.”

The junior hitter was a driving force who helped lead the Division III Eagles to an impressive runner-up finish in Woodlawn High’s Rumble in the Jungle tournament. She had 68 kills, 14 blocks, 13 service aces, 11 digs and had a .353 hitting percentage during the Woodlawn tournament.

“At the beginning of the year, we didn’t play that well and were looking for the right combination,” Foreman said. “We feek like we have that lineup now, and everything is falling into place. It fell into place for us and for me last weekend.”
