The Louisiana High School Athletic Association and the Louisiana Superdome have reached an agreement that will extend the contract for the LHSAA Prep Football Classic another five years.

“We are proud to announce that an agreement has been made and the state football championships will remain in New Orleans for the next five years,” said Executive Director Kenny Henderson.  “The Superdome has been the home to this exceptional event since the early 1980s and it is great to know that it will remain there.”

Adds Superdome General Manager Alan Freeman, “Keeping the LHSAA Football Prep Classic in New Orleans, and at the Superdome, is of paramount importance to us.  We want to insure that the Superdome is viewed as an asset for all residents of Louisiana.  Every year this great event attracts teams and fans from all corners of the state.”

The LHSAA has also made changes to the Classic schedule for 2011. There will be more time between games and the conventional itinerary of classifications has been altered to better accommodate the spectators.  Games will begin
