University High, Plaquemine High, Livonia High, St. Michael the Archangel and Zachary High help lead the long list of teams headed to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association football playoffs.

U-High (10-0), Plaquemine (9-1) and Livonia (9-0) all claimed No. 1 playoff seeds, while St. Michael (9-1) is seeded second and Zachary (9-1) is a No. 3 seed.

U-High is seeded first in Division II select and gets a first-round bye. The Cubs face the Thomas Jefferson-St. Louis Catholic winner in the second round. Plaquemine (9-1) is seeded first in Class 4A and hosts McDonogh 35 (2-7). Livonia (9-1), the No. 1 3A seed, plays another local team in No. 32 Baker (4-6).

Like U-High, No. 2 St. Michael of Division II also gets a bye. The Warriors face the winner of Lusher Charter (4-6) at Parkview

Zachary (9-1) grabbed the No. 3 seed in Class 5A nonselect and hosts Airline (4-6) in the first round.

Catholic High (9-1) in Division I select and East Feliciana (6-3) in Class 2A nonselect got No. 4 seeds, while Southern Lab (5-5) in Division IV select and Northeast in Class 2A nonselect were seeded fifth.

Catholic also gets a first-round bye. EFHS hosts Lakeside (3-7), while Northeast (7-2) has an all-local match-up with District 6-2A rival Capitol (2-8), a No. 28 seed. Southern Lab hosts St. Frederick (7-3), the team that beat the Kittens in last year’s Division IV semifinals.

Two No. 8-9 matchups are notable. In Division IV select, No. 8 Aliscension Catholic (8-2) hosts No. 9 Madison Prep (6-4), making its first playoff appearance. In Division III, select No. 8 Episcopal (7-2) hosts No. 9 Northlake Christian (8-2).
