JEFFREY KELLEY/Catholic, Sr.

Kelley capped a successful prep career with his second Metro boys title in three seasons and his fourth All-Metro selection. For the second straight year, Kelley was third in Class 5A (16:20.98). He led the Bears to a third-place Class 5A finish. Kelley won Battlefield and Catholic High Invitational titles. His 15:02 time in the latter race was the seventh-fastest by a prep athlete at Highland Road Park. Kelley’s season PR was 14:50.

RYAN BURRELL/Baton Rouge High, Sr.

Was the runner-up at the Metro meet in 15:55.22 and was eighth in Class 5A in 16:44.81.

ALEX DUNBAR/Episcopal, Sr.

One of team leaders, he finished 10th in Class 2A in 16:57.61 and ninth at Metro in 16:18.72.

GRAHAM FRAZIER/Episcopal, So.

Peaked at right time, earned second in Class 2A in 16:25.09 and 10th at Metro in 16:20.34.

JOHN PAUL HARDIN/Zachary, Jr.

Led the Broncos by placing fifth at Metro in 16:06.44 and 16th in Class 5A in 17:11.62.

JOHN HOWE/Runnels, Jr.

Finished seventh in Class 2A in 16:42.18 and eighth in Metro meet in 16:17.69.

KRIS JACKSON/Episcopal, Jr.

Posted third-place finishes in Class 2A in 16:28.68 the other at Metro in 16:00.18.

THOMAS KELTON/Denham Springs, Sr.

Claimed seventh place in Class 5A in 16:43.57 and was sixth at Metro in 16:09.44.

ALEX LANDRY/St. Michael, Jr.

Finished second in Class 4A in 17:09.37. He was seventh at Metro in 16:13.47.

THOMAS LAVILLE/Catholic, Jr.

Tallied a 12th-place finish at Metro in 16:25.72 and 35th in Class 5A in 17:34.04.

MICHAEL LEE/Episcopal, So.

Was fourth among Class 2A runners in 16:33.84 and took 11th at Metro in 16:21.50.

PARKER McBRIDE/Dutchtown, Jr.

Excelled at Metro, finishing 13th in 16:26.62 and took 28th in Class 5A in 17:30.16.

KENNY SCHAFER/Episcopal, So.

Rebounded after missing Metro meet and finished 13th in Class 2A in 17:21.18.

DAVID TOUPS/Catholic, Sr.

Notched a ninth-place finish in Class 5A in 16:48.65 to help the the Bears finish third.

BEN VASTERLING/Dutchtown, Sr.

Led the Griffins by placing fourth at Metro in 16:01.28 and 32nd in Class 5A in 17:32.01.

The Knights won their 20th consecutive state title in Class 2A, completing an incredible season. Episcopal grabbed the No. 1 ranking for teams in all classes. The Knights placed five runners in the top 10 en route to a Metro title and scored the low total of 22 at the 2A state meet, placing all five scoring runners in the top 10.

ALICIA STAMEY/Episcopal, Jr.

A four-time All-Metro selection, Stamey won five individual girls titles. She also won the Morvant Invitational, Round Table Run, LSU Invitational and Port Hudson races. She finished second at the Class 2A meet in 18:55.42 to help the Knights finish third. Her PR of 17:49.3 came while finishing second in the St. Joseph’s meet. She is the first Episcopal female runner to break 18 minutes, and her time was the eighth-fastest at Highland Road.

JENNIFER BENNETT/St. Joseph’s, So.

Steady performer placed ninth at Metro in 19:37.15 and 14th in Class 5A in 20:41.68.

BREANNA BERNARD/Ascension Catholic, Jr. Was the fourth-place finisher in Class 1A in 19:43.49 and seventh at Metro in 19:12.34.

STEPHANIE BREAUX/Ascension Catholic, So. Repeated as Class 1A champion, this time in 19:00.45. Was fifth at Metro in 19:01.18.

ADELE BROUSSARD/Episcopal, Fr. Helped lead EHS by placing third at Metro in 18:53.31 and fourth in Class 2A in 19:23.97.

GABBI CHAUVIN/St. Joseph’s, Jr.

Placing third in Class 5A in 19:51.51 and sixth in Metro in 19:05.44 during breakout year.

SOPHIE DAIGLE/Ascension Catholic, Jr. Finished fourth at the Metro meet in 18:55.41 and was third in Class 1A in 19:23.19.

AMBER DESSELLE/Parkview Baptist, Jr. Posted a 13th place finish in Class 3A in 21:25.44 and was 21st at Metro in 21:05.00.

HALEY DUPRE/Ascension Catholic, 8th Season highlights included placing 14th at Metro in 20:03.06 and fifth in 1A in 20:31.98.

KELLY GOFF/West Feliciana, Fr. Powered the Saints by taking 13th at Metro in 20:02.12 and 6th in Class 3A in 20:44.83.

LAUREN HENDRY/St. Joseph’s, Fr. Was the eighth-place finisher in Metro at 19:23.00 and 13th in Class 5A in 20:36.53.

SARA LAVASTIDA/St. Michael, Fr. Finished ninth in Class 4A in 20:53.35 and 10th at Metro in 19:41.22 for the Warriors.

LEANNE LIVINGSTON/St. Joseph’s, Fr. Garnered a 12th-place finish at Metro in 19:51.38 and 18th in Class 5A in 20:53.35.

RACHEL PENDLETON/St. Michael, Jr. Broke 19 minutes to take second at Metro in 18:49.09 and was was fourth in Class 4A in 20:39.6.

TARA STUNTZ/Dutchtown, Jr.

Placed 11th in Class 5A in 20:27.51 and also was 11th at Metro in 19:45.84 for the Griffins.

Capello’s ACHS girls team was consistent and successful yet again. The Bulldogs won their second Class 1A state title in three seasons. ACHS scored 26 points at state with four of the top five finishers. ACHS also was the Metro meet runner-up to St. Joseph’s Academy with 72 points, placing three runners in the top seven.
