Archbishop Hannan Athletic Director Joe Hines confirmed Friday afternoon that Hawks football coach Pat Lambert has resigned.
Hines said Lambert accepted a job as an assistant coach at Bogalusa to be closer to his family.
“Pat has had a number of reasons to make the switch to Bogalusa,” Hines said. “He has interest over there because it is a convenient thing for him. It has nothing to do with coaching here at Hannan. He has his sons, who are working at Bogalusa, in addition to a lot of other things he is looking at.”
Lambert had a 25-29 record in five seasons at Hannan, including a berth in the Division III state championship game in 2013.
Hines said he is accepting applications for the position, and anyone interested in the job should contact the school at 985-249-6363.
“I believe we are going to see significant interest in this job,” Hines said. “It is a program that has experienced success. Looking at prospective applicants, we will give everyone an interview, but we are looking for coaches with head coaching experience or at least experience as an offensive coordinator.”
