RAYNE — Ty’Von Griffin ran for 290 yards and scored all five touchdowns as Crowley knocked off eighth-ranked Rayne 33-21 in a District 4-4A game Friday night.

Griffin scored on runs of 25. 5, 2 71 and 4 yards as Gents (6-2, 4-1) jumped out to a 26-0 halftime lead and held off a late Rayne rally.

Jaylon Reed threw an 11-yard TD pass to John Michael Besse and a 15-yard scoring pass to Trevon Fontenot for Rayne (6-2, 2-2). Deontry Wilridge also had a 7-yard scoring run for Rayne.

LIVONIA 21, VILLE PLATTE 0: In Livonia, C.J. Powell passed for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Livonia, the sixth-ranked team in Class 3A, blanked District 5-3A rival Ville Platte (3-5, 2-1).

Powell hit Derrick Wells with a scoring pass in the first quarter and Stephen Guidry with a 79-yarder in the third period to give Livonia (7-0, 3-0) all the points it needed. Malcolm Dedrick added a 21-yard run to wrap up the scoring.

The Wildcats defense held Ville Platte to 124 yards and forced two fumbles.

CHURCH POINT 56, PORT BARRE 14: In Church Point, the fifth-ranked Bears broke open a tight game with 33 points in the third quarter to remain undefeated in District 5-3A.

Deion Monroe and Frederick Williams each scored three touchdowns for Church Point (8-0, 3-0). Monroe scored on runs of 31, 2 and 36 yards while Williams had a scoring run of 44 yards, a 55-yard punt return and an 87-yard kickoff return. Darrell Collins picked off a Port Barre pass and ran it back 55 yards for a score.

Deangelo Van Allen scored on a 6-yard run and Austin Lanclos had a 1-yard TD run for Port Barre (2-6, 0-3).

VERMILION CATHOLIC 22, EUNICE 20: In Eunice, Tyler Derouen scored all three touchdowns as Class 1A Vermilion Catholic (7-1, 4-0) defeated Class 4A Eunice (3-5, 1-3). The Eagles went into the game as the third-ranked team in Class 1A.

Hunter Frith, who completed 15 of 25 passes for 194 yards, tossed scoring passes of 44 and 21 yards to Derouen after he opened the scoring with a 2-yard run. Derouen led all rushers with 114 yards on six carries.

Eunice’s Alex Richard matched him score for score with a pair of 2-yard scoring runs and an 11-yard scoring pass to Terryl Poullard.

NOTRE DAME 57, ABBEVILLE 0: In Crowley, Brad Stoma threw three TD passes as Notre Dame, the eighth-ranked team in Class 3A, blanked Abbeville (0-8, 0-3) in District 6-3A.

Stoma tossed a 5-yard pass to Dillan Gilbert, a 10-yard TD strike to Hunter Miller and a 45-yarder to Ivy Robicheaux. Damon Comeaux, who led all rushers with 130 yards on nine carries, scored on an 81-yard run and Justin Guidry had a pair of short scoring runs for the Pioneers.

Notre Dame (6-2, 3-0) held Abbeville to 27 yards and recovered a fumble.

BREAUX BRIDGE 20, CECILIA 18: In Breaux Bridge, Drake Guidry scored what turned out to be the winning touchdown on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter as Breaux Bridge edged cross-parish rival Cecilia in District 5-4A.

Guidry’s TD put Breaux Bridge up 20-12 but Cecilia cut the lead to 20-18 on a 15-yard pass from Landon Roberts to Kenya Dartez but the two-point conversion pass was incomplete.

Cecilia (3-5, 2-3) took an early 6-0 lead on a 30-yard scoring pass from Roberts to Damien Bernard.

Breaux Bridge (6-2, 4-1) finally got its offense going in the second half as Edward Batiste scored on an 8-yard run and Marquis Domonter had a 5-yard scoring run to set up the winning touchdown.

LOREAUVILLE 54, WESTMINSTER 13: In Opelousas, Kendall Maxie rushed for 215 yards on 12 carries and scored three times as Loreauville (5-3) improved to 2-1 in

District 5-2A.

Maxie scored on runs of 19, 51 and 95 yards and Will Strickney had TD runs of 10 and 66 yards as the Tigers put up 46 points in the first three quarters. Jared Henry added a 24-yard scoring run and Brennan Williams added a 46-yarder as Loreauville finished with 470 yards rushing.

Richard Hebert threw a 10-yard TD pass to Zachary Standiford and a 22-yard strike to Brandon Vidrine for Westminster Christian Academy (0-8, 0-3).

JENNINGS 34, IOTA 6: Jennings, the ninth-ranked team in Class 3A, scored 28 points in the first half and breezed to the District 3-4A win over Iota.

Jennings (6-2) overpowered Iota in the battle of the Bulldogs racking up 376 yards while holding Iota to 135.
