1, St. Joseph’s Academy (20-1): The Redstickers avenged their lone loss to New Orleans rival Mount Carmel to win their own tourney. The record speaks for itself.
2, St. Amant (13-7): The Gators proved their mettle again SJA tourney and beat rival East Ascension in district play in district play Monday night.
3, East Ascension (13-7): Spartans lost to rival St. Amant on Monday in a key district showdown and enter a tough part of their schedule..
4, Central (11-6): Wildcats of Division II have been playing well for the last couple of weeks and now have the upper hand in district play.
5, St. Michael (11-6) and Baton Rouge High (16-6): Division II St. Michael rebounded from its loss to Central and is now 4-1 in district; Division I BRHS has steadily improved since the season began.
Division III and below
1, Parkview Baptist (14-1): The Division III Eagles advanced to the semifinals of Woodlawn’s Rumble in the Jungle tourney before losing for the first time this season.
2, Episcopal (12-5): The Knights lost to Division I SJA and some others last week but are a Division IV team to watch. A Division IV district showdown with U-High looms Thursday,
3, University (14-7): It should be interesting when the Cubs and Episcopal square off on Thursday.
4, St. John (17-5): The Eagles play a tough schedule and have established themselves as the area’s top Division V team. Also played well at Woodlawn’s Rumble in the Jungle tourney.
5, Lutcher (16-6) and Brusly (14-7): Division III Lutcher remains a steady and consistent winner. Brusly struggled early but has excelled since.
