LAPLACE - No. 1-ranked St. Charles Catholic (3-0), of Class 3A, bounced Class 5A Northshore 36-8, thanks to 232 rushing yards and 168 passing yards.

Lazedric Thompson scored St. Charles’ first 14 points on runs covering 4 and 1 yards and ran for a 2-point PAT. Marcus Hall’s 54-yard run was followed by a an 8-yard scoring pass from Donnie Savoie to Sammy Miller for the Comets’ 29-0 halftime lead.

Savoie found Hall for a 54-yard TD strike for St. Charles’ only second half points. Northshore (1-2) points came late in the third quarter on Steven Gaines’ 15-yard run. Gaines ran for the point after.

ST. EDMUND 42, MAMOU 27: In Mamou, quarterback David Lafleur carried 23 times for 354 yards, scored on runs of 4, 58 and 1 yards, passed for 58 more yards and another TD as the Class 1A Blue Jays (2-1) kept Mamou (0-3) winless.

St. Ed’s finished with 38 carries for 459 rushing yards and limited Mamou to 60 yards on the ground.

Dominque Austin got Mamou on the board first with a 12-yard TD run, but a 7-yard TD pass from David Lafleur to Austin Lafleur even the score before the Blue Jays ran off to a 20-7 halftime lead.

LOREAUVILLE 33, WESTMINSTER 28: In Loreauville, the Class 2A Tigers (2-1) rallied for 26 second-half points to down No. 8-ranked Westminster (1-2), of 1A.

Down 21-7 on Westminster’s TDs of 21 and 1 yards by Luke Judice and Wesley Bellard’s 1-yard dive, Raymond Bonnette connected with Jermaine Antoine for a 62-yard scoring pass to start Loreauville’s comeback. Bonnette and Antoine hooked up for LHS’ first score, a 14-yard pass in the first quarter.

Kyle Francois kept the ball rolling for the Tigers with a 26-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the third quarter and Nick Julien gave Loreauville the lead with a 62-yard run and two-point PAT run.

Jaen Williams shot Westminster back into the lead when he took in a 43-yard scoring pass from Judice in the fourth quarter, but Antoine returned the subsequent kickoff 90 yards for the touchdown.

BREAUX BRIDGE 41, COMEAUX 0: In Lafayette, No. 2-ranked Breaux Bridge (3-0), of Class 4A, started fast and ended strong to hand the home standing Spartans (2-1) their first loss of the season.

Adrian Menard opened with a 54-yard scoring run and Darrin Thomas added a 1-yard TD run to give the visiting Tigers a 13-0 halftime lead. Menard’s 49-yard TD run opened the second half scoring that included Traven Durel’s 13-yard pass from Lane Landry, another Thomas’ 1-yard run and Derrick Williams’ 74-yard sprint.

NOTRE DAME 21, TEURLINGS CATHOLIC 15: In Crowley, the fifth-ranked Pioneers, of 3A, held off Class 4A Teurlings and Waylon Young’s 1-yard run with 1:34 remaining in the game shot the winners to a 2-1 record.

Notre Dame was up 15-0 at half on a safety and Nick Gosse’s TD runs covering 3 and 4 yards.

Turnings (2-1) tied the score on Dashier Landor touchdown passes covering 15 yards and 14 yards and his 2-point PAT pass to Devote Jackson).

ASSUMPTION 43, THIBODAUX 26: In Thibodaux, Hunter Gautreaux hit on 15 of 23 passes for 262 yards and three TDs to lead the Class 4A Mustangs (3-0) past Class 5A Thibodaux (0-3).

Gautreaux TD passes covered 31 and 49 yards to Jaen Knocker and a 48-yarer to Rejoin Oliver. AHS also got points from Chris Johnson (2-yard and 16-yard runs), Oliver (16-yard run) and a safety.

Thibodaux’s Aaron Thomas carried 14 times for 116 yards and hit 10 passes for 134 yards. The Tigers’ scores came on Nigel Robertson’s 16-yard run, Blade Martinez’s 11-yard and 73-yard passes to Jason Richard and a 16-yard pass from Aaron Thomas to Sequin Tarragon.

AMITE 39, HAMMOND 0: In Amite, Warriors quarterback Reggie Porter carried 10 times to 112 yards and hit on 10 of 11 passes for 258 yards and three TDs as Amite (2-1) rolled up 526 total yards.

Porter found Josh Gipson for scoring passes covering 65, 68 and 8 yards and Juan Rogers scored on runs of 3 then 5 yards.

Hammond (1-2) was held to 9 rushing and 124 passing yards.

CHURCH POINT 13, CECILIA 6: In Church Point, the Class 3A Bears (3-0), led by Jacob Boone’s 15 carries and 109 rushing yards, rolled up 204 yards on the ground to edge Class 4A Cecilia (1-2).

Boone scored the game’s first TD on a 3-yard run. Brock Gladiolas added the PAT to give Church Point a 7-0 halftime lead. Jake Mordant extended the lead with a 1-yard scoring run midway through the third quarter.

RAYNE 51, ABBEVILLE 6: In Rayne, the home standing Wolves (3-0) ran out to a 44-0 halftime lead and had 11 players carry the football and had six different players score in the win.

Rayne ran for 330 yards and got scores from R.J. Buchanan (8-yard run), 23-and 29-yard passes from Buchanan to Clearance Leger, Dannie Harmon (28-yard run), Jalen Williams (15-yard run), Johnathan Dugas (55-yard run) and Javon Carrier (23-yard run).

ST. MARTINVILLE 36, KAPLAN 10: In St. Martinville, C.J. Chaisson and Jamiah Nelson raun for two touchdowns apiece to lead the St. Martinville (2-1) attack that rolled up 286 rushing yards.

Chaisson’s runs covered 8 and 17 yards in the first half, and Nelson’s 8- and 42-yard runs were St. Martinville’s final scores. Asa Marshall’s 60-yard fumble return accounted for SMHS’s other points.

Kaplan (1-2) got its lone TD from Jate Rutland’s 78-yard kickoff return.

BEAU CHENE 19, PORT BARRE 7: In Prairie Basse, Beau Chene got a 12-yard pass from Michael Janes to Devin Davis, a 70-yard punt return and a 7-yard run from Jamal Chavis for 19 first-half points. John Sylvester’s 85-yard punt return stood for Port Barre’s long TD.

HANSON MEMORIAL 28, PINE PRAIRIE 12: In Pine Prairie, Drake Rodriguez completed 11 passes and Hanson (3-0) ran for 221 yards in the win.

Hanson got TD runs from Kole Fluke (1 yard), Haden Judice (11 yards) and Beau Ancona (4 yards) and Rodriguez passed 37 yards to Chase Businelle and 8 yards to Ancona for scores.

CENTREVILLE ACADEMY 35, OAK FOREST 0: In Amite, Colton Terrell scored on runs covering 31 and 2 yards and ran for a 2-point PAT to give Centreville Academy an early 14-0 lead in the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools District 6-2A game.

Centreville’s other TDs came on Randy Belle’s 19-yard run, Cliff Hurst’s 1-yard plunge and Tyler Towles’ 2-yard run. Oak Forest was held to 82 total yards.

Late Thursday

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 47, BERWICK 0: In Berwick, Dontrell Brown opened the floodgates with a 54-yard punt return for a touchdown and Lloyd Grogan added two TDs in a 27-point first quarter for Class 1A Central Catholic-Morgan City (3-0).

Luke Landry ran 12 yards and passed to Brown, who lateraled to Grogan for first-period TDs. Jovan Johnson added two more TDs on runs of 17 and 3 yards to push the score to 40-0 at halftime. Brown kicked five PATs. Berwick is 0-3.
