East Asecension is scheduled to host the Adidas State 7 v 7 football tournament set for June 26-27.
The tournament has the support of the Louisiana Football Coaches Association and promotes the idea of high school teams playing together in their home state. The tourney will be played at EAHS’ Spartan Stadium and its adjoining soccer fields.
“(The) 7-on-7 participation has increased significantly in Louisiana over the past 10 years,” LFCA Executive Director Shane Smith of Franklinton High said in a news release. “We are excited that this partnership with Airo (Sports Management) will create a legitimate 7 on 7 state championship in our state. The LFCA is excited to see it become a reality.”
