It’s no secret that the Griffins produce running backs. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Bolding staked his claim to be the next in the DHS RB line by rushing for a career high 220 yards on 21 carries with three touchdowns in a 23-13 win over Hammond last week.
“My line did a great job of opening up the holes,” Bolding said. “I’ve gotta give all the credit to them. My job was hit (the hole) as hard as I could and keep going. We’ve all got to keep getting better.”
Edo and the Panthers won the Tara Slammin’ Classic after being the runner-up the last two years. The 5-9 senior compiled 32 kills, 13 blocks and 10 service aces in five matches and was the MVP. Edo also had 18 kills in a Monday win over Southern Lab.
“After my teammate made the all-tournament team I thought there would be a championship trophy,” Edo said. “I was surprised to be the MVP. I thought we played well as a team.”
