FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Madison Prep defensive lineman/tight end Malcolm Roach got a scholarship offer from Arkansas.on Saturday. It is the thid SEC offer in the last two weeks for the senior-to-be.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound senior-to-be was offered a scholarship as the Razorbacks wrapped up the final day of their prospects camp. Roach said wide receivers coach Michael Smith extended the scholarship offer. Roach has earned Class 1A all-state honors the last two years for the Chargers, who move up to 2A this fall.
The Arkansas offer came a week after both Mississippi State and Missouri offered the son of MPA football coach Michael Roach a scholarship. His list of 33 scholarship offers also includes North Carolina State, Illinois, Kansas, Southern Mississippi, Texas Tech and Louisiana Tech.
“It was good,” Roach said of the camp. “They had me work strictly on defense. I did some team drills and then some one-on-one stuff. Then they offered me.”
Up next month for Roach are camps at LSU and Texas.
“I want to see how things go the rest of the summer,” Roach said. “Then I’d like to have a list of finalists before our season starts.”
