McKinley High School Principal Herman Brister Jr. confirmed that the school’s boys basketball coach, Harold Boudreaux, was placed on administrative leave and will not coach the Panthers when they host Dutchtown on Friday night.

Brister said Boudreaux, a former LSU player in his first year at McKinley, was placed on leave Thursday pending investigation of an incident at the school. A source close to the situation told The Advocate that the incident involved the team.

“There was an incident that took place, which I cannot discuss,” Brister said. “There’s an investigation into that which is part of the due process. I’d like to think we can get that done and have everything resolved by early next week.”

Brister said assistant coach Raeshawn Williams would serve as head coach for Friday’s District 5-5A game with Dutchtown. Williams was previously the head coach at Baker High.

McKinley (12-8, 1-0) beat St. Amant in its 5-5A opener Tuesday night.
