McCoy, a junior, completed 22 of 34 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for 67 yards in the Purple Knights’ 32-20 victory over then-No. 9 ranked Jesuit. McCoy’s 401 yards of total offense gave St. Aug its first victory of the season and first for first-year coach Al Jones.
De La Salle
Wheat, a junior running back, rushed for 171 yards and scored on runs of 4 , 8 and 3 yards in the Cavaliers’ 47-14 victory over Lusher. De La Salle, ranked No. 4 in The New Orleans Advocate Small Schools Super 10, improved to 4-0.
Ducros, a senior outside hitter, was dominant in a straight-sets win over Division I Dominican on Sept. 25. She knocked down 14 kills, had 15 digs, and added three blocks and two aces in the win. She is a two-time MVP in McGehee’s district and has led the team to a No. 2 ranking in the New Orleans Advocate’s small school rankings.
