Traven Guidry scored 22 points as the defending state champions, a No. 4 seed, knocked off top-seed Florien 67-50 on Wednesday in the semifinals at Burton Coliseum.
Devin Gautreaux scored 18 points and Randy Primeaux had 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds for Midland.
The Rebels led just 42-38 at the end of the third quarter, but exploded in the fourth when they outscored the Black Cats 25-12 to pull away.
Midland (25-5) advances to Friday’s Class B title game to play the winner of Wednesday’s game between No. 3 Anacoco and No. 2 Fairview.
Midland beat Fairview 61-51 in last year’s title game.
Bailey Walker and Anthony Kimbrough scored 13 points each to lead the Black Cats.
Kimbrough left the game with a little under six minutes left with an apparent ankle injury.
Florien finished the season 33-7.
