Field conditions could possibly dictate a change to the Louisiana High School Coaches Association Baseball All-Star games schedule, but Mark Carroll isn’t ready to make that call just yet.
Carroll, the Denham Springs baseball coach and executive director of the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association’s executive board, did a walk-through at Denham Springs-based North Park’s Netterville Field on Wednesday afternoon and is taking a wait-and-see approach.
“It all depends on how much rain we get tonight (Wednesday) and tomorrow,” Carroll said. “Based on how it goes, there’s a chance we can get it (field) ready in time for Friday.”
Players are set to report Friday morning for the LHSCA games and are scheduled to practice before playing the first of two games at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The second game is set for 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
More rain could force organizers into playing two games on Saturday, instead of one game on each day, Carroll said.
