1, Zachary (5-1): Three-point win over Scotlandville gives Broncos slim bragging rights.
2, Scotlandville (5-1): Tough loss to 5A No. 7 Zachary is not a negative. The Hornets are very good.
3, St. Amant (6-0): Strength of schedule is the only thing that puts the steady Gators slightly below the top two.
4, Catholic (4-2): Win over East Ascension was impressive for the Bears, who have four straight wins.
5, Livonia (5-1): The ninth-ranked Wildcats of 4A have won five straight going into showdown with Plaquemine.
6, Dutchtown (4-2): Talented team that could easily be 6-0 and shouldn’t be overlooked.
7, Live Oak (4-2), Denham Springs (4-2) and Central (4-2): Hard to separate this 4-5A trio at this point.
10, Plaquemine (3-3): We’ll see if that tough predistrict schedule pays off this week vs. Livonia.
On the outside looking in: Belaire (4-2), Walker (5-1), Woodlawn (3-3), East Ascension (2-4).
Class 3A and below

2, Parkview Baptist (4-2): Forget those early losses, Eagles are in a showdown with U-High just like we expected.
3, Madison Prep (6-0): This Class 2A newcomer has met all challenges and has proven elite status.
4, Southern Lab (4-2): Don’t hold that loss to national power IMG against the 1A Kittens, they’re still elite.
5, Lutcher (5-1) and St. James (5-1): These parish rivals will meet this week to decide 9-3A and local bragging rights.
7, West Feliciana (3-3): Don’t lose sight of the Saints. They’re in 6-3A like U-High and PBS and are dangerous.
