Thursday’s capsules

Games at 7 p.m.

Kaplan at Westminster

Last year: Kaplan won 51-0

The buzz: Both teams have been mostly lethargic on offense, with WCA scoring just nine points and Kaplan yet to score. Last season saw the Pirates pour it on in a 51-0 win against the Crusaders. Kaplan defensive end Jalen Bates had an interception in last year’s game and will look to lead the Pirates to their first victory.

Port Barre at Beau Chene

Last year: Port Barre won 19-9

The buzz: Port Barre and Beau Chene can throw the records whenever these two meet. Beau Chene opened with tough games against Cecilia and Church Point and the rival Red Devils picked up their first win of the season last week against Westminster. Coach Josh Guidry, in his second year at Beau Chene, hopes to get his first win in this rivalry.

Games start at 7 p.m. unless otherwise listed.
