PRIDE - Kendell Beckwith ran for 81 yards and passed for 78 yards, while Kameron McKnight scored three rushing touchdowns to power eighth-ranked East Feliciana, of Class 3A, to a 41-0 victory over rival Northeast on Friday at NHS.

Beckwith completed 7 of 15 passes and carried the ball seven times. McKnight scored on all three of his carries for a total of 50 yards, including a 25-yard TD run for the Tigers (1-0).

Kelvin Woods added two catches for 46 yards for the winners. A stingy EFHS defense limited Northeast (0-1) to 80 yards, including 15 rushing yards.

SCOTLANDVILLE 60, REDEMPTORIST 0: At Redemptorist, Kimani Smith passed for 104 yards and three TDs, leading Class 5A Scotlandville (1-0) to a surprisingly easy win over 2A Redemptorist (0-1).

Larry Clark caught three passes from Smith for 50 yards, including scoring tosses of 11 and 23 yards. Kajandre Domino had two catches for 40 yards, including a 12-yard scoring play. Domino also ran for 58 yards on eight carries and had a 5-yard TD run.

Dontrell Hilliard and Keith Dawson each had 51 rushing yards for the Hornets. Hilliard scored on a 19-yard run, while Dawson had a 50-yard TD run.

BRUSLY 16, PLAQUEMINE 8: In Plaquemine, Brusly scored its points in the first and third quarters of the game between westside rivals.

Quarterback Jay Christophe scored on an 8-yard run. Blake Manola tossed a two-point PAT pass to Donald Williams, making it 8-0.

DiMario Jackson added a 15-yard scoring run for the 3A Panthers (1-0), who ran for 204 yards. Brusly also got a safety to round out the scoring. Class 4A Plaquemine (0-1) had 162 rushing yards.

PORT ALLEN 39, NORTHWOOD-LENA 0: In Port Allen, the 3A Pelicans (1-0) got two rushing TDs and three passing TDs from Darian Claiborne.

Claiborne opened the scoring with a 20-yard TD pass to Ashton Paul and a 29-yard TD strike to Chris Bynum. Claiborne added TD runs of 30 and 25 yards. He also threw a 16-yard TD pass to Quincy Paul.

Ricky Merritt also scored on a 6-yard run for PAHS.

CARENCRO 35, EAST ST. JOHN 7: In Carencro, the Bears made a bid to crack the Class 5A Top 10 with a win over the seventh-ranked East St. John.

Carencro stunned the visitors with an 80-yard pass from Jalen Nixon to Blaysyn Breaux less than two minutes into the game, but a 13-yard Darion Moore-to-Rashad Green TD pass pulled East St. John even just more than a minute later.

Alex Johnson scored on an 11-yard run to break the tie, then the Bears ran off 14 more points before halftime and added a TD in the final period. The final three touchdowns came on a Nixon 5-yard run and Johnson runs of 74 and 1 yards.

Johnson finished with 223 yards on 22 carries. Nixon added 79 more on 14 carries and hit 3 of 6 passes for 122 yards.

ESJ quarterback Darion Moore completed 9 of 26 passes for 203 yards.

NOTRE DAME 43, SOUTHWOOD 6: In Crowley, No. 5-ranked Pioneers, of Class 3A, ran out to a 27-0 halftime lead and turned the game over to their defense.

Notre Dame had five players score - Nick Gossen 1-yard run, Jacob Sloane? 12-yard run, Matt Venable 22-yard interception return, Josef Schmid 25-yard pass from Waylon Young and Luke Broussard 13-yard run.

Broussard scored the final points on a 16-yard run. Gossen led Notre Dame with 100 yards on 17 carries.
