Quarterback Carven Young passed for 112 yards and three touchdowns, engineering a 34-28 East Feliciana win over host Christian Life on Friday night.
East Feliciana outscored Christian Life 28-14 in the first half and forced two turnovers in its first District 6-2A win of the season.
The Crusaders outgained East Feliciana by 423-302 yards in the game, but were held to two touchdowns in the second half.
Gemontae Franklin punched in two touchdowns for EFHS on a 20-yard run and a 73-yard pass from Young. Tre’Darius Carr, Kamaron Irvin and Trelin Dunn added touchdowns for the Tigers (3-4, 1-3).
Jacob Kibodi and Jared Davis contributed all four scores for CLA (4-3, 2-3).
DONALDSONVILLE 27, BAKER 14: In Donaldsonville, Tyler Brown threw for 221 yards and rushed for 37 yards and two scores as the Tigers cruised past Baker.
Koby Bozeman, who rushed for 97 yards on nine carries, added two touchdowns for Donaldsonville (3-4,3-1).
Nicholas Morgan rushed for 246 yards and punched in both scores for the Buffaloes (3-4,1-3).
ASCENSION CATHOLIC 62, EAST IBERVILLE 6: In St. Gabriel, Ascension Catholic ran wild for 301 yards to notch its first district win.
The Bulldogs (2-4, 1-2) climbed to a 49-0 lead at halftime.
Eight Bulldogs saw the end zone with Kaleb Winchester leading the way on touchdowns runs of 38, 10, and 75 yards.
With the loss, East Iberville dropped to 0-7,0-4.
ST. JOHN 57, ASCENSION CHRISTIAN 12: In Gonzales, St. John of District 6-1A, racked up 520 total yards in a nondistrict win.
Devin Landry and Collin Crockett accounted for six touchdowns while leading the Eagles rushing attack to 372 rushing yards. Clay Payne and Gavin Primeux also added touchdowns for St. John (3-4, 1-2).
Both Ascension Christian scores came in the second quarter. The Lions are 3-4 on the season.
KENTWOOD 40, ST. HELENA 6: In Kentwood, four Kangaroos scored in the first half as Kentwood eased to a nondistrict victory.
KHS, which has won four straight games, scored all six touchdowns in the first half.
Aldrick Lott, Kyvan Trout, Jaleel Covington and Lorenz Morris all scored for Kentwood (6-1).
Troy Hurst scored on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter to give St. Helena of District 7-2A its only score. St. Helena fell to 4-3.
CATHOLIC-PC 44, ST. EDMUNDS 30: In New Roads, Lucas Patin churned for 213 yards and three touchdowns as Catholic-PC remained unbeaten in District 5-1A on Thursday night.
CHPC (4-3,2-0) has won four straight games.
Quarterback Nathan Carriere contributed the first two Bulldogs scores on a 2-yard run and 12-yard pass to Troy Pichon to give CHPC a 28-22 lead at halftime. Carriere finished with 3-of-5 passing for 65 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 60 yards and one touchdown.
For St. Edmund, quarterback Drake Brunet accounted for 290 yards and two touchdowns. Gibson LaFleur and William Chachere also scored for the Blue Jays (2-5, 1-1).
