ST. GABRIEL — DC Mattingly accounted for four touchdowns while leading Ascension Catholic to a 53-0 road victory over East Iberville in a District 8-1A game Friday night at EIHS.

With the win, the Bulldogs wrapped up second place in 8-1A.

Kaleb Winchester, Patrick Butler and Jacoby Stewart each caught a TD pass from Mattingly. Winchester also had a 37-yard TD run in the first quarter.

Javon Yarbrough ran in 27- and 7-yard TDs, and Landon Landry rushed 9 yards for another for Ascension Catholic (8-2, 4-1). East Iberville finishes 0-10, 0-5.

MADISON PREP 46, VARNADO 20: In Varnado, Madison Prep (6-4, 2-2) won its District 6-1A finale by piling up 404 rushing yards.

Everett Richard ran for 176 yards on 11 carries and scored two TDs for the Chargers.

TeJuan Spurlock added 109 yards on nine carries with a TD, while Quincy Banks had 75 yards on eight carries. Troy James scored a TD and contributed 44 yards on four carries. Edwin Kleinpeter completed 6 of 14 passes for 88 yards and a TD.

Malcolm Roach scored six two-point conversions for the winners. Roach also had 14 tackles and two sacks. Spurlock tallied nine tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. Richard also contributed on defense with an interception and six tackles.

CATHOLIC-POINTE COUPEE 42, FALSE RIVER 8: In New Roads, Jonas Guichet connected with Gabe Vandegrift on four TDs to help Catholic-PC secure a second-place finish in District 5-1A.

Guichet completed 14 of 20 passes for 236 yards and Vandegrift finished with eight catches for 145 yards.

Landon Lemay contributed 109 rushing yards and one TD as Catholic-PC (5-4, 3-1) compiled 386 total yards.

False River’s (3-6, 1-3) lone TD came in the fourth quarter on Gared Beauvais’ 1-yard run.

CROWLEY 44, MADISON PARISH 20: In Tallulah, the Class 4A Gents’ well-spread offense helped them down the Class 2A Jaguars in a nondistrict matchup.

Pate Broussard completed 7 of 15 passes for 113 yards and two TDs, one to Jacq’Co Price and the other to Mikal Hebert for Crowley (8-2).

Ty’Von Griffin added 142 rushing yards on 28 attempts for three TDs.

For Madison (4-6), Jarvis Williams finished 5-of-12 passing for 147 yards and an 81-yard TD to Johnny Perkins. Cameron Virgil rushed 28 yards for the Jaguars’ other score.
