St. Aug snapped Curtis’ 11-game winning streak last week. Stanley Morgan has 597 receiving yards this season. Brother Martin is led by running backs Jared West (766 yards, 9 TDs) and Bruce Jordan Swilling (460 yards, 9 TDs).

Chalmette (1-4) vs. Ehret (4-1)

District 8-5A opener for both teams. Patriots defense, lef by Michael Divinity and Robert Green, has shut out two opponents this season and is allowing just 9.8 points. Almost impossible to run on unit giving up just 55.2 yards per game. (147.4 total yards). Before last week, Owls’ three losses were all by seven points or less. Jayvon Lewis (280 yards) and Connor Lambert (261 yards) lead Owls on offense.

Shaw (4-1) vs. Rummel (5-0)

Catholic League opener. Rummel is ranked No. 13 nationally by USA Today and No. 1 in Class 5A and the New Orleans Advocate’s Super 10. Maurice Bailey (449 yards, 3 TDs) and Devin Hutton lead the Raiders’ ground attack, while Chase Fourcade is a dual threat at QB. Shaw junior running back Trey Ragas has rushed for 896 yards and 16 TDs already this season. Shaw QB Matt Keller (670 passing yards, 7 TDs) keeps defenses off balance.
