The Advocate is accepting nominations from Baton Rouge metro area schools for its annual Athlete of the Year awards.
Schools are asked to submit the top boys athlete and top girls athlete from their respective schools by April 30. Submit the athlete’s name, classification and a summary of his or her athletic accomplishments in 2013-14, including statistics in each sport listed.
Nominations can be submitted by fax to Robin Fambrough at (225) 388-0318 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Athletes nominated don’t have to be college-bound recruits but should be on track to meet the NCAA’s academic requirements for eligibility.
The boys and girls Athlete of the Year winners will be honored along with the Star of Stars in a cross-section of high school sports next month.
Nominations must come from schools. Coaches with questions about nominating an athlete can contact Fambrough at (225) 383-1111, ext. 80412.
