Zephyr Field, recently used as a concert venue for Mumford and Sons, is apparently branching out again.

According to WGNO-TV, the Triple A baseball stadium on Airline Drive in Metairie will host eight high school football games in the fall.

The first of the eight games will reportedly be Sept. 23 with Brother Martin vs. John Curtis. Five more of the eight contests will be Friday night. One will be Thursday and another Saturday.

In an effort to expand Zephyr Field's reach, new Senior Vice President and General Manager Augusto "Cookie" Rojas to The Advocate last month that he wants to use the facility “beyond our 72 games of baseball."

“That’s our bread and butter," Rojas said. "But to use the facility on nights we don’t have games is a way to maximize the space.”

WGNO reports Zephyr Field officials will make an official announcement about high school football games May 19.
