Devin Edinburgh scored 10 points to lead Karr’s balanced attack in a 55-36 victory over Tift County (Georgia) in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Prep Classic on Thursday night at the Alario Center in Westwego.

Vincent Phillips and Marc Bowie scored nine points each for Karr.

The Cougars (12-7), ranked No. 7 in The New Orleans Advocate’s Large School Super 10, will play in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Friday against Scotlandville, which beat Salmen.


CABRINI 47, RICHWOOD 45: Rakell Spencer scored 22 points to lead Cabrini to a victory over Richwood in the platinum bracket Sugar Bowl Prep Classic.

Spencer, a Texas A&M signee, also grabbed 11 rebounds and five blocks for the Crescents (10-6).

Kelsey Punear chipped in 15 points and Rayven Patin had nine assists.

Cabrini advances to play Karr at 7 p.m. Friday.

It will be the third game of the season between the two teams ranked in The New Orleans Advocate Super 10.

No. 5 Karr won the first meeting and No. 4 Cabrini won the second one.

Natchitoches Central 46, JOHN Curtis 41: Nathitoches Central beat Curtis in the opening round and advances to play the Fair Park-St. Thomas winner on at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
