All games begin at 7 p.m.
North Central (1-7, 0-3) at Catholic Pointe Coupee (3-4, 1-1)
Last year: Catholic won 49-6
The buzz:Catholic scored 42 first-half points last week to get back on track after losing two straight games, but it needed all of those points because Sacred Heart put up 30 points in the second half. It’s been a tough year for North Central, who has lost four straight games by an average of almost 30 points per game. North Central’s only win was a 20-18 squeaker over a winless Gueydan team.
Gueydan (0-8, 0-4) at Lafayette Christian Academy (3-5, 0-4)
Last Year: LCA won 36-0
The buzz:LCA got off to a great start this year but has stumbled since district play started. Someone will come away with their first district win this season. Gueydan, owner of a 21-game losing streak, hasn’t won a game since October 2012.
Mamou (1-7, 0-3) at Lake Arthur (4-4, 1-2)
Last Year:Lake Arthur won 40-0.
The buzz:Lake Arthur started strong this season, but has lost three of its past four. A win would provide a couple firsts for a Mamou team that is winless in district and on the road.
West St. Mary (0-8, 0-3) at Erath (3-5, 2-2)
Last year:Erath won 22-20.
The buzz:Erath has been a bit streaky. The Bobcats followed up losing the first three games of the season by winning their next three, but their three-game win streak was followed by a pair of losses. West St. Mary’s been a bit more consistent, losing 12 of their last 13 dating to last year.
