For what it’s worth, Sci Martin was wearing a TCU t-shirt on Wednesday.
But don’t read too much into that just yet.
Martin, McDonogh 35’s standout defensive end, decided earlier in the day to postpone his announcement Wednesday to think things through.
“I wanted to go ahead and do it, but I talked to my coaches and my dad,” said Martin. “They want me to take some time and just think it through and make sure. You know, right after a visit, you’re all hyped and everything.”
The 6-foot-3, 220 pound Martin visited Texas and TCU on Tuesday.
“Both visits went well,” Martin said. “They were great.”
He listed both schools among his five finalists, along with LSU, Florida State and Oklahoma.
Martin has visited LSU and Florida State as well.
He was an honorable mention selection on the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 4A All-State team.
He is rated as a 3-star-recruit by 247Sports.
Martin, who originally committed to Tulane earlier this summer, said he is unsure when he will actually announce a decision.
What will be some key factors in his decision?
“The depth at my position, the scheme they run and the coaching staff,” Martin said.
He also holds offers from Louisiana Lafayette, Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Lafayette.
Arizona State, Colorado State, Kansas State, Troy, Miami, SMU, Southern Miss, Temple, and Troy,
“I think I have my mind made up, but I don’t want to rush anything,” he said.
