NEW ORLEANS — Caleb Johnson scored the game-winning touchdown on an 8-yard run with just 29 seconds remaining, lifting Port Allen High to a 22-14 victory over McMain in Class 3A bidistrict football action Saturday night at Pan American Stadium.

With the win, No. 21-seed Port Allen (7-3) advances and will host No. 5 Livonia (9-2) in regional action Friday night.

“It was a back-and-forth game,” Port Allen coach Guy Blanchard said. “Even when they went ahead, these guys never gave up.”

Jestin Kelly returned a McMain fumble 15 yards for another Pelican TD. McMain, a 3A semifinalist a year ago and the No. 12 playoff seed, finishes 7-3.
