Two competitors, Catholic High’s Braydon Bergeron and St. Joseph’s Academy’s MK Miller, were the only double winners during Saturday’s preliminaries for the Capital City Swim League Championships.

Their respective teams also took lead roles during the separate sessions for girls and boys competitors held at the Crawfish Aquatics pool. Finals begin at 1:15 p.m. Sunday the Crawfish pool.

Miller led premeet favorite St. Josephs’ Academy by winning the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 17.21 seconds. She also won the 100 butterfly in 1:01.92.

Bergeron swept the boys sprint freestyle events, winning the 50 in 23.15 seconds and the 100 in 51.72.

St. Joseph’s had the top

prelim times in all three relays and also had two other swimmers, Victoria Padial (100 freestyle, 55.25) and Cameron Balkom (100 breaststroke, 1:07.58), place first in individual events.

Catholic recorded the top times in two of the three boys relays.

The Bears, who have won 21 straight Capital City Swim League titles, also got individual wins from Brady Grenfell (200 freestyle, 1:51.93),

Grant Grenfell (200 individual medley, 2:05.20) and Colin Finnegan (100 breaststroke, 1:04.55).
