WALKER — Terry Bozeman passed for four touchdowns and ran for another, leading Walker High to a 56-6 victory over Northeast in a season opener played Friday night.

The victory was Class 5A Walker’s first win since the 2013 season. With Bozeman at the helm, Walker’s offense compiled 257 total yards against the 2A Vikings.

It was the first career victory for first-year head coach Brandon Lawley of WHS.

Tristan Taylor caught a 14-yard touchdown pass and also scored on a 2-yard run for the winners. Northeast’s only touchdown came in the second quarter on a 47 yard run from Tyriq Kelly.

ST. MICHAEL 25, BROADMOOR 6: Four Warriors found the end zone Friday night as St. Michael beat Broadmoor in their season-opening game played at Louisiana Leadership’s Doug Williams Stadium

Jace Brown opened the scoring for St. Michael with a 3-yard touchdown run. Mitchell Rowe followed with a 2-yard run to put the Warriors up 12-0 in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Treylan Sibley connected on a 37-yard touchdown pass to C.J. McGarner to put St. Michael up 19-6 at halftime.

The Warriors added a final score by Keagan Valdry in the final quarter.

BAKER 46, TARA 6: Nick Morgan ran for three touchdowns to pace the Buffaloes. Morgan scored on two long runs and one from within the red zone at BHS’ Wedge Kyes Stadium.

Baker notched one score through the air when Terry Johnson connected with Delanta Miller. BHS also scored twice on defense, returning a fumble and an interception for touchdowns.

DUNHAM 26, ARCHBISHOP HANNAN 14: Dunham held Hannan scoreless in two quarters. Former Redemptorist quarterback Mike Williams led the Tigers with TD runs of 2 and 11 yards.

The Tigers finished with 445 yards of total offense, including 269 yards on the ground. The Hawks scored in the first and final quarters.

ASSUMPTION 35, DONALDSONVILLE 14: A In Donaldsonville, Assumption exploded for five TDs over the last three quarters at Boutte Stadium.

Da’Ron Williams accounted for all five Mustang touchdowns, rushing for 146 yards and four touchdowns. Williams also threw an eight-yard TD pass to Melvin Young.

Tyler Brown connected on a 67-yard TD pass to Carl Bell to lead Donaldsonville.

EPISCOPAL 23, CHRISTIAN LIFE 21: The Knights held off a late surge from Christian Life. T.J. Wisham scored the first two touchdowns on the ground to put the Knights up 14-0 at halftime in the game played at CLA.

CLA 13 unanswered points in the third quarter before Episcopal added a touchdown and a field goal in the final quarter. Jarod Davis led the Crusaders with 139 rushing yards and two scores.

CENTRAL 51, MENTORSHIP ACADEMY 6: Central’s offense erupted for 425 total yards and six touchdowns.

Caleb Moore and Xavier Lewis each ran for two TDs for Central.

Mase Evans caught a scoring pass from Gabe Brown. The Wildcats scored all their points in the first three quarters.

Mentorship’s only touchdown came on Craig Jones’ 36-yard pass to Craig Jones in the final quarter.

The game was originally scheduled for Thursday but was moved to Friday, a day after Mentorship was granted membership by the LHSAA.
