University High got a monster game from Jalen Johnson and is now one win away from a third straight state championship.

No. 2 U-High withstood a gritty outing from No. 3 St. Louis and prevailed 71-57 on Wednesday in the Class 3A semifinals of the Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Boys’ Top 28 at Burton Coliseum.

U-High (30-4) will play No. 4 Wossman on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the championship game. Wossman upset top seed Peabody in Wednesday’s other semifinals.

Johnson led the Cubs with 27 points and nine rebounds. Johnson shot 9 of 14 from the floor.

Wayde Sims scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for U-High and Spencer Mayes chipped in 10.

P.J. Hardy scored 14 points for the Saints.
