Eric Rebaudo has been named the football coach at Holy Cross.

Rebaudo replaces Barry Wilson, who spent the past 12 seasons as coach, but is stepping down to become the athletic director.

Wilson will replace former athletic director Mike Bujol, who is retiring.

“It’s humbling,” Rebaudo said. “I realize that these are great teams and great coaches to go against in the league (Catholic League, District 9-5A). We hope to continue being competitive. We have a lot of guys we are replacing. We know we have our work cut out for us, but that’s what we get paid to do.”

Rebaudo spent the past 12 seasons as defensive coordinator under Wilson.

Before that, he was a secondary coach at Rummel.

Holy Cross finished 9-3 this past season when they reached the semifinals of the Division I playoffs before losing to Byrd 14-10.

They also reached the playoffs the previous season, falling to eventual champions eventual champion Edna Karr in the 2012 Class 4A playoffs.
